I made Harper's

Once more I'm the press whore. My good friend and former employee Eric Janszen gets the cover story in the current (February 2008) Harper’s. It’s a great analysis and discussion of just how badly things are about to become economically in the US. Oh yeah, I get mention and even get my very own footnote!

Eric and I met at Cayman Systems in Cambridge in the late 80’s. This was early internet. There are an estimated sixty five million dotcom domain names at present We were 96th.

Congrats, Eric! Keep up the good work! You can check him out at iTulip.

CONGRATS! BUT CONDOLENCES TOO...THE ONLY PROPHETS IN THE OT THAT GOT KILLED WERE THE ONES WHO WERE RIGHT!

If you were an average wage earner, making, say $40K a year, and had a 401 retirement plan, and a half paid mortgage on a reasonable house in a reasonable neighborhood. What would you be doing right now to prepare for the coming burst?

Dear middle class American:

Given the coming financial apocalypse, do the following:

Keep your nose as brown as possible.
Stop all nonessential discretionary spending.
Pay off all adjustable debt, especially credit card debt.
Try to hoard cash.
Vote Democratic (war is expensive).
Get cooperative with family and friends- take care of each other.

Congratulations. Good article. I saw it in the sidebar on iTulip, but didn't realize you were in it.
